An End of Life Specialist (otherwise known as an End of Life Doula) is someone who offers non-medical emotional, practical, and informational support to people who are nearing the end of life and to those who love them. The role is to walk alongside you — helping you feel supported, informed, and less alone.
Palliative care and hospice teams focus on medical care and symptom management. An End of Life Doula / Specialist complements this care by offering non-medical support, such as guidance, planning, advocacy, emotional support, and presence — before, during, and after death.
I support people with a life-limiting diagnosis, those approaching the end of life, and their families and carers. I also work with people who want to plan ahead, even if they are not currently unwell.
At any time. Some people reach out soon after a diagnosis, others when death is closer, and some simply want help planning ahead. There is no “too early” or “too late.”
I operate face to face in Sydney or online for all other locations.
Support can be provided in the home, hospital, hospice, or residential aged care, depending on circumstances and location.
End of life can be unpredictable. I work flexibly and respond to changes as they happen, always guided by what feels most supportive in the moment.
Yes. I offer gentle after-death support for families, including emotional support, guidance, and space to process what comes next.
My approach is person-centered and non-denominational. I respect and support your beliefs, values, culture, and traditions — whatever they may be.
Absolutely. Supporting loved ones is a vital part of this work — before, during, and after death. Families often need just as much care and reassurance.
